To launch an app in the Play Store you will need to setup a Google Play Developer account and invite us to it. This will allow us to do all the heavy lifting for you while leaving you in the driver seat as the owner of the account.
1. Create a Google Play Developer account
š Skip this step if you already have a Google Play Developer account.
Follow Googleās instructions to register for a Google Play Developer account. Note that as part of this process you will need to pay Google a one-time $25 fee and provide documentation to prove your identity.
2. Invite Treefort to your Google Play Developer account
Open the Google Play Console, navigate to āUsers and permissionsā, and click the blue āInvite new usersā button.
Enter the following details and click āInvite userā:
Email: [email protected]
Apps: If you have multiple apps, select only the apps that you wish Treefort to manage under the āApp permissionsā tab. Otherwise leave this tab blank and select permissions under the "Account permissions" tab.
Permissions: When prompted for permissions, select the āAdmin (all permissions)ā option.
3. Create a Google Cloud project
Sign into the Google Cloud Console using the same Google account you used to setup your Google Play Developer account. Create a new Google Cloud project and call it "<App> Play Console" (replacing ā<App>ā with the name of your app).
Open the Google Play Developer API page for your Google Cloud project and enable the Play Developer API.
4. Invite Treefort to your Google Cloud project
Click the menu icon in the top left of the Google Cloud Console and choose "IAM & Admin"
Click āGRANT ACCESSā and enter the following details:
Add principals: [email protected]
Assign roles: Editor, Project IAM Admin
5. Get ready to accept payments
š Skip this step if you do not plan to offer paid subscriptions through your Android app.
Setup your payment profile in the Google Play Console. From the Play Console home page click āSettingsā in the sidebar, scroll down to āMonetizationā, and then click āPayments profileā.
Register for the 15% service fee tier to cut your transaction fees in half.
