To launch an app in the Play Store you will need to setup a Google Play Developer account and invite us to it. This will allow us to do all the heavy lifting for you while leaving you in the driver seat as the owner of the account.

1. Create a Google Play Developer account

šŸ‘‰ Skip this step if you already have a Google Play Developer account.

Follow Googleā€™s instructions to register for a Google Play Developer account. Note that as part of this process you will need to pay Google a one-time $25 fee and provide documentation to prove your identity.

2. Invite Treefort to your Google Play Developer account

  1. Open the Google Play Console, navigate to ā€œUsers and permissionsā€, and click the blue ā€œInvite new usersā€ button.

  2. Enter the following details and click ā€œInvite userā€:

    • Apps: If you have multiple apps, select only the apps that you wish Treefort to manage under the ā€œApp permissionsā€ tab. Otherwise leave this tab blank and select permissions under the "Account permissions" tab.

    • Permissions: When prompted for permissions, select the ā€œAdmin (all permissions)ā€ option.

3. Create a Google Cloud project

  1. Sign into the Google Cloud Console using the same Google account you used to setup your Google Play Developer account. Create a new Google Cloud project and call it "<App> Play Console" (replacing ā€œ<App>ā€ with the name of your app).

  2. Open the Google Play Developer API page for your Google Cloud project and enable the Play Developer API.

4. Invite Treefort to your Google Cloud project

  1. Click the menu icon in the top left of the Google Cloud Console and choose "IAM & Admin"

  2. Click ā€œGRANT ACCESSā€ and enter the following details:

5. Get ready to accept payments

šŸ‘‰ Skip this step if you do not plan to offer paid subscriptions through your Android app.

  1. Setup your payment profile in the Google Play Console under ā€œSetup > Payments profileā€.

  2. Register for the 15% service fee tier to cut your transaction fees in half.
