When you make changes to your app’s layout or settings, we automatically save them so you won’t lose any work if you close your browser tab. But don’t worry! We won’t make the changes visible to your users until you click the “Publish All Changes” button on the right side of the screen.
This way if you want to update multiple parts of your app (say, adding a new module and revising an existing one), you can publish all the changes at the same time.
When there are changes present that haven’t been published yet, you’ll see a yellow “Changed” indicator on the status of the item, like these:
After you’re done making changes and are ready for users to see them, just click the blue “Publish All Changes” button. Once the changes have been published, users’ apps will begin fetching the updates and we do our best to swap them in unobtrusively. If you want to force an update to test the changes on a device yourself, put the app into the background or force quit it, wait 10 seconds, and open the app again. (On some devices, you may have to do this a couple of times.) The app should then fetch and apply your updates.
Changes that require review
Most of the changes you make on the App tab of your dashboard can be immediately published to your users. However, a few settings require App Store and Play Store review. These include:
App icon
App splash screen
Everything in the "Settings: Basic info" section (app name, contact email, etc.)
(We also put a small note into your dashboard below each of these sections indicating that changes to that section will require review.)
For settings that require review, the "Publish All Changes" button won't do anything. Instead, send us a note letting us know you've made changes that require review, and we'll get new app builds sent off to Apple and Google to request the review and publish the changes for you.
