Setup a custom transactional email address
Setup a custom transactional email address
Updated over a month ago

We will occasionally send “transactional” emails to your users. These are automated emails for account related activities like password resets and email verifications. By default these emails will be sent from the address “[email protected]”. If you’d like to customize this address, you’re in the right place!

🚧 If you setup a custom transactional email address then you will be responsible for ensuring proper email delivery to your users. We are not able to guarantee the functionality of third-party SMTP services.

1. Setup an SMTP server

You’ll need to setup an “SMTP” server and configure it to send from your custom email address. There are many services that can do this for you. A couple that we recommend are Postmark and Resend. Each service will have it’s own documentation to help you get going.

2. Send us your SMTP credentials

Once you have an SMTP server that is setup to send emails from your custom address, send us the following values and we’ll complete the setup on our end:

  • Custom email address

  • SMTP host

  • SMTP port

  • SMTP authentication method

  • SMTP username

  • SMTP password

⛔️ Please do not email your SMTP username or password to us. These are sensitive values and should be transferred securely. We recommend Onetime Secret as an easy, free, and secure way to transfer sensitive values.
